Markets, indexes, gains and other figures!
by Barbora Misakova

Everyone is on his guard, watching properly every move up and down. Everyone goes in fear of double-dip economic recession. While yesterday it was about the lowest consumers’ confidence in seven months, this time it is going to be about U. S. stock investors and their strong control of the market. It has begun quite strongly and optimistically at the beginning of September, and investors are wondering if its end is going to be the same. The main questions are: “Is the economic recovery still on track?” and “Does market’s recent rally have support?” Investors have been enjoying their boosting confidence so far when three major U.S. stock i! ndexes left with gains. The Standard & Poor with its 500 index celebrated its 9.5 percent growth. According to Reuters, September could be the best month for the Standard & Poor and its 500 index since at least March 2000, if the rally holds. But quite steady 9.6 percent rate of unemployment and tepid demand are the biggest threat. They are expected to cause a slowdown in manufacturing activity in September. Manufacturing index of the Institute for Supply Management probably dropped by 1.8 percent, but there are at least expected some moderate gains in personal income and consumer spending. On Thursday the final figures on second-quarter gross domestic product will be out and on Friday, September domestic car and truck sales will be reported. “Sentiment has turned sharply higher over the past few weeks after very bearish readings last month.” said Michael Sheldon, chief market strategist at RDM Financial. But if this sentiment is going to grow is something what ! no one can answer for sure.

U.S. shares folow European issues
by Milota Sidorova

Europe is facing several major strikes. These days people in Greece, France and some other states will enter the streets and demonstrate against significant cutting budgets. Not only against reduction that is generally perceived as „necessary evil“, but also against low transparency and weak trust of EU policy and monetary organizations who have had all necessary data to predict and stop „the crisis“. The reaction of EU was worth of low budget soup opera. The crisis was a reason to establish new organs and institutions to take control over national budgets (or deficits) and protect states from the same situation. Funny or irony of the situation that ! there is no one who truly believes that new organs could affect the money flow if old ones couldn't. EU is generally perceived as a bureaucracy mess of hundreds organizations who are completely hopleless if it comes to major cooperation.Banks are watching from aside, knowing it will affect them, if not internally, then of world markets. And once another, although not that new information broke out – that European banks would lack more than 135 billion euros, American shares slightly shaked.Major indexes just like Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell after the greatest and the most stable week in past months. Dow Jones slid 107.24 points, or 1.03 percent, at 10,340.69. S&P 500 that gained more than 5 percent last week lost slightly 12.67 points or 1.15 percent to finish Tuesday trading on 1,091.84 and technology Nasdaq composite draw back 24.86 points, 1.11 percent at final 2,208.89.Increase during last week turned out to be a consequence of positive reports from manufact! uring industry. Shares increased despite bleak unemployment ra! tes and long-term flat projections.

Good day on Wall Street
by Zivka Deleva

The workers at the Wall Street are celebrating today. After eight weeks today has been the best day for the share market. The thing is that the investing atmosphere has been much more inspirational in this period More than six shares rose at the New York Stock Exchange. The same happened with the Nasdaq index and for the Russell 3000 index, as well. Experts say that these good news are due to the momentum players and hedge funds. "They're moving the needle with force, but there's not a lot of volume behind it. There's a bunch of people trying to chase returns and this becomes a vicious game" - Jason Weisberg, director of institutional trading at Seaport Securities in Ne! w York said. I believe that we can consider these new numbers as a good indicator that there is hope for the US economy that still is shaken after the 2008 recession. Some industries note good results. For example, the heavy equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. that depends a lot of the economical conditions has announced rising of the share for 4.6 percent. The idea to grow and rise in Brazil in the next two years as well certainly helps this company to stand well. Such a day everyone would like to use it for it’s own good. People are encouraged to buy shares. Apples’ shares for instance noted 3 percent rise and it’s share now is $250.33 worth. No doubt,, this success is due to the launch of the new TV gadget of the telecommunication company – the Apple TV and the new iPod lineup. I wish a lot more good days at the Wall Street. Though I have nothing to do directly with it, but knowing how influental US economy is to the world, I just wish a lot more go! od news from he Wall Street.
